[Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs] Gov. Kay Ivey has awarded a total of $1.2 million to improve traffic safety in 17 Alabama counties. The Southeast Alabama Highway Safety Office will disperse funds to local law enforcement agencies for use during statewide safety campaigns like “Click It or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.” Additional traffic safety operations can be enacted to reduce crashes and traffic violations in specific locations, particularly during busy travel periods like holiday weekends.
